Frequently Asked Questions

  • Dr. Chang is an in-network provider for Anthem Blue Cross and Aetna, for both HMO and PPO plans. However, with PPO plans there might be deductible needs to be met before the insurance benefits can be applied.

  • Since Dr Chang is not contracted with your insurance company, you will need to pay out of pocket. Dr. Chang can provide you with a “superbill” for you to get reimbursed by your insurance company.

  • No. Dr. Chang is not contracted with Medicare or Medical.

  • Please call and discuss with Dr. Chang.

  •  Your therapy would not be subject to insurance approval so you could be seen quicker.

  • Each therapy session is 45 minutes for code 90834 and 55 minutes for code 90837. These are billing codes for insurance companies for individual therapy.

  • You can text or call Dr. Chang at 626-203-8326. Texting is for scheduling purposes only. If you call, please make sure you leave a voicemail with your contact information.

  • It will depend on the issues that you want to address with Dr. Chang for therapy/counseling. During your first session (“intake”), you will discuss your therapy goals with Dr. Chang and decide on the frequency of your sessions.

  • Once you schedule an appointment, you need to provide at least 24 hour advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, unless it’s an emergency. Insurance will not cover fees for no-shows or cancellations, so you will have to pay the full fee (not the copay) if you miss your appointment without advanced notices.
